Puppy Love??

I'm not sure what it is, but Camryn and Jessie have really taken to each other. It amazes me that Camryn knows Jessie is a new and different dog, but some how she knows. And every time Cam is on the floor Jessie lays down right next to her, almost as if she is protecting her. Camryn, being at the reaching and grabbing everything stage, of course loves the handfuls of soft fur she gets to pull and surprisingly Jessie doesn't seem to mind at all. It makes me wonder if Jessie had a litter at some point in her life or maybe they are just going to be best buddies. Camryn is also quite interested in food and water these days. When watching some one eat she will 'chew' right along with them, and if close enough will reach for food with a wide open mouth. I'm not sure if she just wants to put it in her mouth to see what it is, or if she's really interested in 'eating'. I was hoping to hold her off for at least six months, but it looks like she might have other plans.

My cross dressing, hording, two year old on the other hand is at the point where he doesn't want to eat anything. Why do they have to become such picky eaters? Will used to eat almost anything, now we are down to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, carrots, broccoli, and yogurt ~ and that's a good day. He has even started snubbing his beloved pasta!! Maybe this is my chance to get more creative with him and see if he'll actually eat meat and fruit! I know it's typical at this age, but it doesn't make it any more fun to deal with. Will is really starting to speak in full sentences now and his understanding of concepts amazes me. Tonight when driving home from dinner he told us he wants to have a blue car when he grows up, and then asked Jon what kind of car he wants when he grows up. The kid is just so cute.

And then there is Ms. Kate. Kate started a new preschool this year and is just loving it. She is only there three days a week, but says she wants to go everyday. She loves being with her friends and is quite the social butterfly. She is eager to be older than she is already which is scary to think about. She does everything she can to keep up (and annoy) her big brother. Now that Ben is reading Katie is trying really hard to get to that point as well. Athletically she far exceeds him, so I am trying to not encourage her to take over everything he does. Her latest thing is playing 'family' ... she'll say "Mom, let's play family. We can pretend you are the mom, I'm the kid and Camryn is our baby. Ok?" How this is different from our everyday lives I have no idea, but it's all she wants to do these days. That and play with the ten year old girls on our street. How do you break a four year old heart by telling her they don't really want to be her friend, but just like to play with her because she is cute ~ like having a little sister when you want one? I can't bring myself to do it. Kate started speech therapy this year and is doing great ~ her 'l, s and th' sounds are really improving. Hard to believe it's time to get her application into Latin for Kindergarten next year, it's due on Nov 1st!
